So now I am paying it off 50$ at a time, and I can pay it off anytime too! But for now I am happy to just pay $50 a month. The owner sent me a contract and explained the whole process. Now I am not even American so this is really cool. I live in New Zealand and this whole thing was just news to me! The business owner let me call him on whatsapp an we talked for about half an hour. He really wanted me to understand the process because I think he saw how interested and curious yet ignorant I was. He’s very very nice and helpful. I appreciate people like that.
I never plan on selling it. The property taxes are about $20 a year… and one day I plan on building something there. Not sure what yet. Maybe a cabin. Maybe a full blown house. I plan on buying more land in other parts of USA. Perhaps more acres! I am looking at Colorado, Arizona, Oregon, California and Florida!
If I can get guaranteed financing and pay like $50-$200 a month per property then why the heck not. One day I will be grateful I did it. It just feels nice knowing I own something for real. Now I am so curious that I started looking at property in Canada where I grew up and was shocked to find full blown freehold houses for as low as $17,000. Not in great condition but WHAT! Not sure I can get financing but I might try and if I can, I will also try to rent it out to someone and hopefully get a small profit which I can reinvest somewhere else!
